The new Pulse 85 & 95 had a trial in the surf last weekend at Moffat beach on the Sunshine coast near Caloundra, Queensland. Ben & Sophie borrowed these from Rosco Canoes, one of our Tootega dealers and headed north to have some fun in the surf.
They found the Pulses easy to manoeuvre and easy to jump on to after floating them through the breaks.
Ben was impressed by the weight of the kayaks and happily carried the Pulse 95 to and from the beach. Looks like they had a great time !!!

Tootega kayaks at Skee Kayak Centre
Amanda dropped in to help Karen & Col from Skee Kayaks in Mullaway NSW on the weekend with their recent Demo Day and spent a lot of time helping paddlers explore the Tootega kayak range. The new Pulse 85 & 95 sit on tops were a huge hit. A fun day for everyone. Again, thanks to Karen & Col for another great day on the water.

More Goodtimes…
Upstairs you’ll find Goodtime’s amazing selection of paddles for all types of paddling. The paddle section is on an upstairs mezzanine level it’s a bit eerie standing on the mesh floor looking through the mesh to the ground floor of the shop below, but it all adds to the uniqueness and character of the store.

Goodtime !!!!
Dropped into to catch up with Gayle Austen at Goodtime in Woolloongabba [had trouble spelling this one] just south of Brisbane. It’s always an adventure cruising around her store which is devoted to surfing, skating, kayaking, sailboarding, kite surfing & canoeing. Gayle’s decidecd to run some of our new Pulse 85’s & 95’s sit on tops for this season too which is great.
What a great store you never know what you’ll find there. Visit Goodtime’s store and wander through, there’s lots of speciality watersports areas and nooks & crannies filled with great gear, don’t get lost now !!!!

Innovative way to load your kayak
Here’s a simple & easy solution to load & unload your kayak on your own. No more back bending & straining whilst you try and get your kayak up onto the roof of your car or 4WD. We’ve used this system and found it so easy to get kayaks on and off the roof, very simple yet so effective. The Malone Sea Wing & Stinger Combo can be easily fitted to most vehicles roof rack systems, just let us know which type of roof rack system you have and we can provide the correct length bolts for your racks. The kit comes complete with bow and stern lines and tiedowns. Order from our on line store here.

The Global Paddler
I met up with Scott Rawstorne last week whilst travelling through the northern rivers area of NSW. Scott is the Global Paddler, author, researcher, writer, traveller & of course a paddler.
Scott’s book Paddling Around New South Wales & his kayaking guides are an easy read and full of useful tips for your next paddling trip.
Scott’s philosophy is simple in that paddling provides an amazing and unique opportunity for anyone who loves seeing the world from the water to experience incredible environments without disturbing them or leaving any trace of their visit. Global Paddler’s extensive and still growing collection of paddle guides makes finding the best places easy.
Have a look at Scott’s great work at Global Paddler and why not become a member of the Global Paddler community. I’m looking forward to your next set of guides Scott.

Photos from our Gold Coast photo shoot ….go international !!!
From our photo shoot on the Gold Coast earlier this year one of the images has just been used at a major international canoe & kayak & stand up paddle board exhibition in Germany by Tootega kayaks. The image features Sarah, who resides on the Gold Coast and when she’s not studying, she’s working on her project Sarah Shark which is all about the awareness and protection of the Australian shark species, have a look at Sarah’s site.
The photo was taken by a colleague of Sarah’s, Seanna Cronnin a keen diver and great underwater photographer, lots of her work can be seen at her site as well. Well worth having a look at.
Thanks to Sarah, Seanna, Tim & Amanda for a great result.
